Adwords Tips

by admin on March 16, 2010

Adwords can be a cost effective channel if managed correctly. It is also a great for testing Ad Copy, perhaps for an integrated online and offline campaign.

Here are our Adwords tips:

  • Optimise AdWords using conversion figures and CPA (cost per acquisition) not just CTR (clickthrough rate)
  • Target local searches using AdWords local search placements
  • Broad match bids need accompanying negative keywords (use Google Search Query Tool)
  • Use Ad Scheduling for when people are most likely to respond e.g. if you sell adult products people are unlikely to purchase during the day while they are at work!
  • Lower you Adwords costs by using the Google Search Query Tool to see the exact keyword search your ad appeared for, rather than the keyword it broad matched to. Consider adding the keyword as exact match if they responded well or adding a new negative keyword if they responded badly
