Finding good linking partners can be hard so when you do you should make sure you optimise the links you get. Here are some tips to find and optimise your links for SEO:
- Ideally the link should originate from a highly trusted, popular, important source e.g. NZ Herald
- Ensure the website containing link is relevant to your sector/page/site
- Ensure the anchor text is optimised and is ideally the first link on the page
- Links within body copy carry more weight than links in sidebars and footers
- Ideally the link is likely to remain in place for a long period of time on a page that continues to receive viewers.
