  • Social news software (e.g. Postrank) measures the popularity of articles helping you find “exactly what I was looking for”
  • Social media is full of prospecting and lead-generation information (e.g. LinkedIn) for sales and marketing
  • Social media enable companies to understand the mind-set of the online consumer
  • Social media contain lots of information about your prospective employees, your customers and your competitors
  • Social media rewards innovation through rapid virality.  Think of some of those great YouTube videos we have been passed over the years
  • Blogs enable us to chronologically organize our knowledge and opinions and communicate them
  • Video and audio podcasts enable quick easy learning at your convenience
